Honda of Canada Mfg. (HCM) celebrates the production of its 11 millionth vehicle at its Alliston, Ontario plant – a Rallye Red 2026 Honda Civic Hybrid. Honda Canada’s President and CEO, Dave Jamieson, joined HCM associates to mark the occasion. This milestone builds on the 2023 achievement when the 10 millionth vehicle rolled off the line and comes just ahead of the plant’s 40th anniversary in 2026.

When temperatures fall, a vehicle’s battery has to work harder at the exact moment its chemistry is slowing down. At 0C a typical 12-volt lead-acid battery can deliver roughly one fifth less capacity than at room temperature, and at about −18C usable capacity can drop by nearly half.

Honda of Canada Mfg. (HCM) has earned the 2025 ENERGY STAR for Industry Certification Award from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). The award recognizes HCM facilities as among the most energy-efficient in Canada, earning the top score through energy savings, GHG savings and NRCan’s program engagement criteria.

When the forecast starts hovering near single digits, drivers often wait for the first snowfall before swapping to winter tires. The physics say to act sooner. Around 7C, the rubber in all-season tires begins to stiffen, which lengthens braking distances and reduces grip even on dry pavement.
